Search Greek characters

Hello there! I have a test search form: search.php

When you ask to search the greek keyword: Ηλεκτρικά

you get results normally.

When you ask for the same word but without the tone: Ηλεκτρικα

you get nothing.

This is very common in Greek as the formal writing is to use tones but many people write without. All CMS I have tested they pass this problem and give results but my form not...

Any ideas...

How many characters like that are there?

You would probably have to add php code to convert search strings automatically to remove the tone, and then use SQL to remove the tone from the field you are searching, then you could search and find results by comparing untoned search strings to untoned content.
