When i try to insert an image using the image button in the HTML editor and user an external image link (google-logo_2.jpg) which should be Google image. but when i preview the post the image shows up as broken. when i right click on the image and click view source it shows this google-logo_2.jpg%5C%22

how do i tell it i do not want my domain name before it?

I just did a test and when i enter the url to the google image, it is showing correctly in the editor and when i view the source of the editor it is not adding my folder.

Can you explain a little more about the steps you took and are you referring to the image in the editor or is it in the browser. Also, are you using Advanced or Default File Management.

When i go to the admin section of the website im designing and i select the page i want to edit. I have it echo data into the editor this way the user can edit the HTML code from the db.

So here is where the problem comes in.
say you came along and wanted to add the google image to your home page. you would select the home page then it would display the home page data. You then would click on the image button in the HTML editor. then you would put the URL of the image in this case google-logo_2.jpg into the URL section.

Then to save the data you click submit.

On the next page you will see the data that is in the db in. when you see it on this page the image is not shown. If you view the source of the site the image will show up like this

google-logo_2.jpg

i want it to show up like this google-logo_2.jpg

It should show up like this google-logo_2.jpg because its an external image.

Let me know if i need to clarify better.

Thanks, i do understand what is happening. However when i try to do the same thing on my end I,m not seeing that issue. When you look in the database, are you seeing the image source as google-logo_2.jpg or does it already have the incorrect image source?

I have attached screen shots of what I'm seeing when i try to use that image.
