Customer Registration

Hello,

A customer made a good observation when registering on my PS4 site, and it is one that I have noticed as well.

After someone registers, they are taken to the profile page where it shows them their info and has a button at the bottom of the page asking to update profile. Customer was a little confused since they just put in their info.

A correction might be:

1. After submitting customer informatin the page would say "Thank you for registering with (name of site).

then have a link <continue shopping>

2. Also, and I am not sure it PS4 does this but send an email to customer welcoming them to your membership.

If this takes some programming by WebAssist, then my other option would be to have them taken to the home page once they submit there registration information so they can begin shopping and eliminate some confustion as I stated above.

Thanks for any help.

depending whether you are using the full registration or the short registration edit the webassist/plugins/registration/registration.php or webassist/plugins/registration/full/registration.php

find the following line:

php:
header("Location: ".((isset($_GET["accesscheck"]))?$_GET["accesscheck"]:"users_profile.php?reg=1")  ."");

and change it to:

php:
header("Location: ".((isset($_GET["accesscheck"]))?$_GET["accesscheck"]:"index.php?reg=1")  ."");

this will redirect to the index page when registration is complete.

Power store is already set to send an email on registration.

Thank You

Thank You So Much...

Im currently using PS4 and it looks like they are filling out the long resistration.

Is there a way to reduce to short version ? or do they need to fill out the long version for physical address to ship the order ?

in the admin panel, go to the design editor, you can select to use simple or long registration here.

If they use simple registration, you probably dont want to change the redirect, or they will need to fill in the checkout form whether they login or not.

Thanks !

Thank You Sir, Works just as you advertised.

I have been looking for an answer to this one for a while and a few others have tried to assist but they were using PS3 and I am using PS4

Maybe you can assist with the issue:

I am looking to insert a small image next to the FAQ link in the footer of the home page.

How can I do this ?

the footer is controlled by the webassist/plugins/cms_templates/footer.php page.

you can add a new link as an LI element of the unordered list.

Back Ups

My Friend,

We discussed back-ups of my sitefiles and data base as a precaution.

Question I have is:

1) What information does my Database contain ?

2) I assume that I should also backup my site files along with my database files seperately, in case any corruption occurs that might be hard to filter out. Can my host provider help me do that and just let them save both in a backup folder with each in there own designated subfolder ?

Thanks !

KM

1) The data base contains all of the product information, it also all of the CMS Data and the settings for your store.

Basically, any information you enter in the admin section of PowerStore is stored in the database.

2) That may or may not be a service that the host will offer, but you would need to contact them to determine what options they have available for you.
