Edit after built

Once Site Sculptor builds the site, how do you go back into the interface to edit, for instance, you need to add a page, or change something sitewide?

Site sculptor doesn't allow for re entrance once the site is created.

Jason, is there a typo in your response? Did you mean "doesn't allow" ? If it does allow, please explain how.

My apologies, it doesn't allow you to reenter the interface to make edits.

Let me confirm this, We're thinking about purchasing CSS Design Suite (moving from html to CSS).

So once I build a website, I cannot add new pages to it? If true, that's kind of a deal breaker. Isn't one of the main points of CMS to be able to create new content and pages? Sorry if I'm wrong here, we have been using Joomla for awhile now. I was hoping for something that could replace it for us.

So to be clear, if we create a site for a client, once it's done, it's locked down, and no new pages can be added to it?

You cannot re-enter the site sculptor wizard to make changes to the site you created in site sculptor.

There are ways to make changes to your site, CSS, Menus, CMS content, (through dreamweaver and other Webassist extensions) but not via the wizard, so changes are not as straightforward

Thanks for the quick reply!

Understand that I have not bought it yet, I'm trying to clear up those questions. I am pretty capable at Dreamweaver and using extensions, but not experienced at all with CSS, I only have Joomla experience to compare this to.

How much do I have to go through to create a new page? A client cannot create a new page for his site through CMS?

Another question: Can I add other extensions (for example, DWUser's XML Flash slideshow) to a page? If so, can I edit the XML Flash slideshow after it's been finished?

Would you say that this extension is comparable at all to Joomla?

Sorry about all of the questions, I'm trying to figure out if this is a "real" CMS, or a limited version, and if using it will create restrictions rather than add usability. Believe me, I am hoping that I will get answers that will allow us to buy this extension.

Thanks again,

Doug -- Site Sculptor is not a full-blown CMS system like Joomla. It permits a user to easily edit content on existing pages -- that said, it does not permit the wide range of site content creation provided by Joomla.

Think of SS as an initial site styling/page/navigation creator that provides pages capable of having their content updated.

How much do I have to go through to create a new page? A client cannot create a new page for his site through CMS?

You as the Site developer can easily create new pages using the template created by SS. A "user" cannot, unless they also have access to DW and the page template file.

Another question: Can I add other extensions (for example, DWUser's XML Flash slideshow) to a page? If so, can I edit the XML Flash slideshow after it's been finished?

If it's just content I see no reason why not.

In a word, no.

Hope this helps. . .
