500 Internal Server Error-Security Assist

500 Internal Server Error-Security Assist

I have created a login page for my website using Security Assist as per the directions given. When I attempt to login using proper credentials (also purposely attempting not to use proper credentials to test the incorrect login page), I am receiving a 500-Internal Server Error. GoDaddy does not keep error logs and they indicated that there is an error with the script. I am new at this; what could be the issue? I need to resolve this ASAP, please. Thanks! (Sorry if I missed a previous answer to this question).

A 500 error is a generic error that literally means "An error has occurred", it really doesn't give us anything to go on to find the cause of the problem.

Does the error display when you load the page, or only after submitting?

Are you sure all of the files are uploaded, including the WA_SecurityAssist and Connections folder?

Did you update the connection file to reflect the server environment?

can you send a link where we can see the problem and a copy of the login page.

After submitting login info.

All files are uploaded-correctly

Not sure on "connection"

Email Password Issue from Security Assist

I have another issue that I am not finding what is causing the error (long day). Any ideas?

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers error '80040e14'

[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The SELECT statement includes a reserved word or an argument name that is misspelled or missing, or the punctuation is incorrect.

/WA_SecurityAssist/Helper_VB.asp, line 83

........Line 83 is

Dim WA_Auth_Forgot_Recordset : Set WA_Auth_Forgot_Recordset = WA_Auth_Forgot_Recordset_cmd.Execute()

I have looked in the area for this executable on other pages with no luck. Any ideas or hints to a possible issue? Thanks

the error is caused by using naming the password column "password". This is a reserved word by the ODBC driver and should be avoided as a column name.

If I change the database name to something else, what areas need to be changed in the code for this to work (so I am not searching-miss something). As indicated I am "new" to this. Thanks for the help.

you should recreate the security assist pages after changing the database.
