Order page adds item to wrong line item on cart page

Order page adds item to wrong line item on cart page

Hi We're having a problem with eCart adding different items to the same line item in the cart?

We've built a cart that enters first product correctly, then 2nd item purchased is added to the 1st item qty but no name or description is added on a second line.

After continue shopping is clicked the 3rd item purchased will be created (added to the cart) on a 2nd line - but it must be a different item.

Last issue is:
on the LUNCH section of the catering link we have a Sandwich platter item and an add to cart button with 8 check boxes below. We would like to have all of the check box data listed in the cart when a sandwich platter is ordered. The check boxes have no dollar value they are just a sandwich selection checkbox.

I've attached the files to this thread

Thanks

Jackie

when working with product options, you need to check the Unique option for each new option column you add to the cart object.

edit the cart object and make sure each of the option columns has the unique option set.

When you add the cart display manager to the page cart display page, go to the second page of the display manager wizard, here you can select cart columns to display in the cart.

Wow! thanks that did it!!!

However we still have one major hurdle to over come and would appreciate some direction with it: Last issue is:

Thank you Jason for all of your help, however, I'm still having trouble.

I have added a new column in the ecart object, made it unique, but now am stuck to what to do next. If you review the catering page (previously attached) and look at how we have set up the "lunch" section, you will see that we have a "sandwich platter" with checkboxes below. The checkboxes are intended to choose which sandwiches you would like in your platter, with no dollar value associated with it. How do we get the sandwich choices to roll over into the cart? We have set up the ecart add to cart to show the column but we don't know how to time the options of the column to the cart?????

Thank you again for your direction!

use the add to cart button to create the form elements, this will create the link.

You will need a column in the cart object for each posible sandwhich.

in the add to cart button, select each column, and set the Update able as Text Field option

after the form elements have been created in the addd to cart button form, edit the type attribute:
type="text"

to:
type="checkbox"

to convert them to check boxes.

make sure to give each checkbox a checked value.

That works great!

Is there a way that we can have those columns only show if there is an item added to the cart from that column? Right now if we add each "checkbox" item to the column list, we have a very wide cart display page. As an example, we add "Smoked Turkey" to the column (since that is one of the sandwich choices) along with 7 others. If someone selects only 4 sandwiches, we have the other 4 items showing (as column headers) in the cart display, but they are empty. Any way to avoid such a wide cart display???

Thanks!

in the display manager, where you add each column to the display, there is an option to "Group With Previous column.

using this option will cause that cart column to show in the same column heading of the display, you can add each of the sandwich choices into the same column this way.
