Users Online

I'm creating a community center website using Data Assist for most of the heavy lifting. I did want to add a feature to let users know when other users were logged into their accounts. That way they can chat back and forth. Is there a way to do this using Data Assist? If so how would I begin and if it's not possible with Data Assist do you have any recommendations where I might find more information on this subject?

You probably could accomplish this using DataAssist. But first you will need to update your database to have a column that is set to 1 when the user is logged in and set to 0 when the user is logged out. And when the user logs in, you will update that column to 1 and then you will that all user with that column set to 1 are online. And when they log out you can set it back to 0.

How would you automatically update the field when they login and update it when they either logout or the session time ends?
