PowerStore 3.0.1 Dot Release Available

A dot release for PowerStore 3 is available. Note that this is for version 3, not the latest version of PowerStore.

Visit the Download Center, click on PowerStore 3 and download the complete files from the PowerStore section to obtain the dot release.

PowerStore 3.0.1 fixed the following:

- error occurring when attempting to edit PowerStore's menu contents using CSS Menu Writer
- parse error occurring after running the Installation Wizard when using a store name that contained an apostrophe
- categories that contained an apostrophe in the name couldn't be deleted
- quotation marks used in product option names breaking the admin options page
- session related issue that prevented first-time admin login after completing installation
- several issues related to inserts and updates and case. It is now possible to change a product/store name/product option from 'test' to 'TEST'.
- issue that caused all simple options for a product to be lost after deleting all advanced options
- canceled Express Checkout transaction redirecting to a DirectPay failure page
- Express Checkout always posting to PayPal's sandbox test environment
- new products added using Safari failed when transacted with Authorize.net
- error occurring when deleting a content management area's history
- issue that prevented the options for a particular product from not updating after making a change
- mysql_free_results errors were displayed when mysql.tracemode was enabled
- updated for better support with PowerGallery
- updated order details related pages to include and display product options
- updated several links to use the correct case to correct issues on linux-based servers
- added alert messaging that fires when a product quantity is added to the cart that is greater than the inventory for that item
- updated checkout functionality to store the order's shipping city instead of the billing city

Note that there is still one known issue for PowerStore 3. This only affects those updating PowerStore with eCart. Using eCart to modify your PowerStore eCart object can overwrite the shipping rules, causing errors when the page is run in a browser. There is a fix you can easily apply. See the known issues section on the PowerStore 3 page of the Download Center to read details and make the fix.

Is there an easy way to upgrade without losing all my currency and manual css changes.

I kinda hacked the site to get everything to work.

Unfortunately ps3 has the design on the pages themselves, so there is no way to update one portion without the other.

That is one of the great new features in ps4. You can design your own theme and that way when you upgrade you should be able to take your design with you for future updates.

Obviously we would like to install the dot release and get the fixes, but for those of us who have needed to change currency, this will be a big task.

Is there any listing anywhere which says which pages will be altered with this dot release? That way, we will know which of our currency-changed pages need re-fixing.

The problem is that just about all of the front end pages were updated because an include file was added to each and all references to "powered by webassist" were removed. So the list of pages updated will include all of your pages with currency changes.

At the end of the day just about all files were updated in one way or another. This is part of the issue with using Dreamweaver Templates instead of Framework Builder when we created v3. By using Themes and Plugins concepts from Framework builder we should be able to better isolate and update issues that may apply to several pages but will occur in only one place that is separate from the key design features.

You could try not updating the pages you have edited and then if you have issues, use something like: 3000-2242_4-10015731.html?tag=mncol;7
or MergeHero in VSS to compare the current dot release to the original version to see what has been updated. That's how I was able to view a report on the updates just now and realized that all of the files are basically updated, but most are minor updates you might apply manually on pages you have already hand edited extensively.

I already bought ps4, and there are several issue

1)the image link in Featured Product not work
2)the image link in Most Popular not work
3)in the backend when I try to update a user not wok
4) is much more difficult to change the currency (dollar symbol)

And I'm sure there are other issue.

I was sure that with the new release would be better, but is not.
I paid for a product that does not work.

if I do not solve this issue, I am tempted to claim a refund.

Yes, this sounds like the case sensitivity issues people have been reporting. We will get a dot release out addressing this and other issues reported in about a week. We finished makeing the updates and need to go through a round of QA to make sure we got everything before releasing the update.

Will that than extend the end date for a possible refund until after the dot release?
At the moment I can't use PS4 at all cause it won't recognize image uploads.
