Error Messages

I have corrected the path to /home/username/php/ and now I don't get an error. But still the person who fills out the form does not get my email sent to them. It is supposed to send out an email to them? Correct. I get their message but they do not get one. What am I not doing. In both Mail and Pear, the email is not received. Am I to attached the message or do any further steps?

Let me confirm, From and To on Create Email Message is to have my email address. Correct? To is not the person who clicks the submit button, correct?

Thank you.
Serge

Discussed path to pear with hosting provider he gave me “/username/php/”, I need to included the “/” at the end. But I still get errors messages:

Patch was installed.

So I looked at the server php directory under Mail.php and when I tried to view it it indicated the following: The file Mail.php cannot be opened: The asociated program (WX_DDE# “C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe\AdobeDreamweaverCS4\Dreamweaver.exe”,”Mail.php”##System#) could not be found. Please check your file type associations.

Then I saw that there was a subdirectory under php called Mail and in it had mail.php file so I modified the path to /username/php/Mail/ but I still got errors then I modified the line 113 of PEAR_Mail_using_SMTP_php.php to be mail.php instead of Mail.php. But still I get errors.

Errors:

Warning: require_once(/username/php/Mail.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/ username/public_html/ChickenTwentyFive/webassist/email/PEAR_Mail_using_SMTP_php.php on line 113

Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required '/ username/php/Mail.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php:/home/ username/php') in /home/username/public_html/ChickenTwentyFive/webassist/email/PEAR_Mail_using_SMTP_php.php on line 113

These same warning statements as above occured if with path to pear being:
(/spibr/php/Mail/Mail.php)
(/spibr/php/Mail/mail.php)

Thanks for your help. Help.

How have you configured the From and To address portions of Universal Email?

the from address is the email address the email will be sent from.

the to Address is the email address the email will be sent to.

The to address is the address that will receive the email.

Hi Jason!

I guess my problem is that I did not understand the instructions on how to fill up the "To" field. I think the "To" field would be the email address of the person who fills up the form. But I can't know the email address of all those people who fill up the contact form. So what email address I put in the field? The point is, the instruction says "In the To field, you can specify the email address you wish the email to be sent to." But I don't know that email address, that is exactly what I am seeking to get from the person who fill up that form, i.e. their email address.

Can you deconfuse me on that issue?

if you wish to use the form input for the two address, click the lightning bolt next to the to field and select the form element from the dynamic data bindings.

Hi Jason!

I'm still fighting with this email. I clicked on the lightning bolt next to the "To" field. Now, when I click on "Testing Server", I get the site definition window, but then next I don't know what to do. Like I'm not sure what option to choose for the server model, access drop down and testing folder server.

Also, when I click on "Recordset", I get an error "While executing apply Server Behavior in recordset.htm, a JavaScript error occured."

Hi Jason!

Thanks for the info. In the learning resource you mentioned, could you tell me which tuturial I should look at because there are quite a few and I'm not sure which one has the information that I need?

Next, looking at one of my books on dreamweaver it mentions: opening the bindings panel copy and paste the Server behavior panel. Right click and name the recordset you wish to copy. Then go to the document that'll receive the recordset which in this case with be the To field. Is this another way to get what I want without setting up a database. Couldn't I just use the form variables? Though I tried this and I got an error.

see the setting up a dynamic site in Dreamweaver tutorial.

If you do not have a database, you cannot create a recordset.

you do not need a recordset.

you just need to use the form bindings.

You need to configure your site for dynamic development in order to use any dynamic data though
