Ecart 5 and Website Payments Standard

When selecting the remote payment gateway for PayPal / Website Payments Standard in the eCart checkout wizard the connection to PayPal Express Checkout is automatically inserted. This means that my customers have to sign up / log inn for an account in order to pay for their goods.
I want the the PayPal account optional checkout procedure for the Website payments Standard without forcing my customers to sign up for a Paypal account.

I´m currently testing this procedure in the PayPal sandbox and do not have other PayPal options in my country.
I´ve tried to change the settings in my test account profile without any luck.

How can I achieve this ?

Appreciate some help !

The Account Optional Setting is a PayPal setting. it is not possible for the checkout code to change how this setting functions. it can only be set in the paypal account.

I have found is some cases that the account optional setting can be effected by other settings in your account such as setting an auto redirect URL or enabling PDN.

If you do not wish to offer Payments Express, yu can delete the Payments Express button from the checkout page.

Change PaypPal Express checkout to website Payments standard

Thank you very much for your help Jason !!

Checked out all the possibilities but none of them gave results.

The following text is taken from the PayPal Guide :

"Next, there are specific reasons the Credit Card Option may not be available.

* You are using Express Checkout. Express Checkout requires a PayPal Account
* "

I deleted the Express Checkout button from the checkout page and still come to the log inn / create account page.

I know the PayPal Account Optional feature is not a WebAssist feature but like to know
what to do , to replace the Express button with the regular Website Payments Standard checkout.
I´m not so experienced with coding and hope it is not too complicated.
Would like the shopping cart to work , like it this far.

If you set it up as paypal standard, removing the Express checkout button on the checkout page is all that is needed.

This will pass to the PayPal server. if the account optional setting is properly configured, you be at a screen allowing you to login or pay by credit card.

if you do not have the pay by credit card option, you will need to contact paypal to look into the problem.
