PRE-SALES: A new install question

PRE-SALES: A new install question

The documentation of PowerCMS 2 instructs to create the 'powercms' (which will be renamed to reflect client's company) folder and upload to root folder of your website.

Here's where I would have issues...

1.) the website I will attach powercms to is 2-levels up from the root because it is one of about 20 departments that is apart of that structure

How do I work around that?

a.) Do I still install to root?

b.) Will I still be able to access powercms for the website?

c.) If I must place powercms at the root, would I be able to attached this one copy to any of the other departments website in the future? If yes, then creating several logins must happen. In order to accomplish that would I need to use another WebAssist product like Security Assist?

Thank you,
Monica

PowerCMS can be installed to any folder of your website root, or above.

You should have no problem in installing PowerCMS to the site folder 2 levels up.

Thank you Jason as the directions did not appear to indicate the "or above" step.

How about my other question: Would I be able to attach CMS to all of the websites on that domain? If so, what other WebAssist app would I use in order to create multiple logins accessing each individual website?

Thank you, again,

Monica

Yes, you can add PowerCMS to each web site if you like.

Power CMS already allows for multiple users.

First, don't worry I won't be purchasing 1 copy to attach to 20 individual websites that are associated with 1 domain.

Having cleared that up (smile), would this process allow me to setup multiple users for more than one website within 1 copy of PowerCMS?

No each website will have it's own unique database and users table, you cannot usethe same database over multiple websites

That makes total sense.

But, after I create the first site will I have access to installation wizard, again, in order to start a new project utilizing a different template in another folder?

Or, will I be able to start a new project in a settings other than the install wizard? I know trying to access the install wizard "again" doesn't make sense either....that's why I know I'm missing something in the documentation, which were only about 3 pages long.

Thank you, Jason, for your time.

when you upload the files to the second site, it will start the install wizard again to install it on that site.

By George, I think I've got it (mimic in a British accent with no offense to Brits).

- I can perform a fresh install to any folder where a different site/template resides as along as its on the same domain and created with different dbs.

Correct?

Thank you Jason...I believe that wraps it up with me.

Time to complete my Proposal.
