Custom Design

Hi!

1. I creacted a layout using CSS Sculptor then 2. I included into that layout a menu created with CSS Menu Writer then 3. I saved the whole desin as a Template then 4. I specified the Editable Regions and saved again.

Now using this template I wanted to create a Site using Site Sculptor. In the Preset Manager, Site Sculptor Site Designs, New, under DW template, I get the statement "CSS Menu Writer was used on this template. Please remove any CSS Menu Writer code ..."

I am a bit confused and what do I do next?

The reason you are getting this error is because you have included a CSS Menu Writer menu in your template. When you are creating a new Site Sculptor design the template and menu are separate components. Here is how you will need to set it up.

Make sure that you have your CSS Menu Writer menu saved as a preset. Next remove the menu from your template. Now with the template not having a menu on it go to the preset manager and make a new Site Sculptor Site Design. When you go through this interface you will first choose the template for the main page, then on the next step you will be able to select your CSS Menu Writer menu preset that you would like to use in the design, then you can specify the orientation and the region that you would like the menu added to.

Thank you for the guidance.
I have another question. When I'm in the Preset Manager, on Step 2 of 4; in the Regions section, I'm not sure what option to choose for Menu, Content and Footer. I want to put an horizontal menu underneath the header.

I am pretty sure you choose the navigation, content, and footer regions you setup when you created the custom dreamweaver template.

It is like elevy noted, on this screen you are being asked what areas of your template you would like that specific content to be in. The choices that you are given are the regions of the template file that you have created. We have a guide for setting up the template for this purpose here:

There are some other resources that are available in the support area for Site Scultpor:
