"From Name" not displaying in sent email

4.0.1, the From Name and email address are static entries.

Tried checking the extra parameters in From address in mail server setup, no different. This is on GoDaddy servers if that makes any different, Linux I believe, not Windows.

Everything else works fine - is there anything I can do here?

How exactly do you have this setup? If you can please post back with the pages in question in a zip archive so that we can take a look at them.

Usually the from name should just be next to the address and it should show in the header of the message. Have you tried sending the message to different email addresses to see if there is a problem you are only seeing with a particular email client? This might be a good test to help determine what is going wrong.

I'll try some further testing with different clients, should have thought of that. The code looks right as you described, but I'll send it later if I can't narrow down the problem. It m ay also be a goofy GoDaddy server restriction or something, wouldn't put anything past them.

Thanks, I'll keep ya posted.

Well, I needed to install an application that required setting permissions on a comfig file. Imwas on a Windows hostingnplannon GoDaddy, which doesn't allow setting permissions. So, I decided to move the account to a Linux plan.

One thing I will say about GoDaddy, is I was able to do this all online once I figured out the weird menu options. But I didn't have to cancel one, and startma new one or set up the database again or open a support ticket.

Anyway, after this migration, and short story long, the email from names now come though to me email client from the website contact form. So it must have been something about the particular PHP configuration on windows server.
