Universal Email not working

Universal Email not working

Hi. I am using Dreaweaver CS5, the latest version of ecart and universal email.

I already had created all my cart/checkout pages with the checkout wizard before.

I added universal email to my confirm.php page, but it's not sending the email.

I really thought this would be straightforward, can you please help.

I am also using Worldpay remotely.

Thanks for your help.

when using a remote checkout method, you cannot send the email from the confirm page when the confirm page posts, the email must be sent from the checkout success page instead.

This is because the form on the confirm page is set to post directly to the remote payment gateway server.

You will need to add a set session value server behavior to the confirm page. Set the trigger to any form post, the name to "EmailAddress". For the value, click the lightning bolt, and select the Email address form element.

now add the universal email behavior to the checkout success page, use the EmailAddress session variable for the from address and set the trigger to before page load.

Hi Jason,

I'm not great at the technical side of things. Could you spell out exactly what I need to do here:

"You will need to add a set session value server behavior to the confirm page. "

Sorry, I'm brutal at this!

Set the email address session:
1) open the confirm page.

2) go to window -> Server Behaviors

3) Click the plus button in the server behaviors panel and select eCart -> General -> Set Session Value.

4) Set the trigger to any form post

5) Set the name to "EmailAddress" without the quotes.

6) Click the lightning bolt next to Value and select the email address form element.

7) Add Universal Email to the checkout success page, use the EmailAddress session variable for the to address.

Hi jason,

It's still not working for me. Basically, I want it to send the cofirmation email to my address: kens.obrien@gmail.com, and to give the order and shipping details.

You see because I am being re-directed to Worldpay after the confirm page, I don't think it's loadling the checkout_success page.

I could give you FTP access if you wouldn't mind taking a look.

after the transaction completes through world pay, you should be directed to the checkout success page, are you saying you are never directed to the success page from worldpay? Or are you not testing all the way through?

When you add universal email to the success page, you need to use the before page load trigger.
