error after confirmation page

error after confirmation page

when I use the paypal checkout after the confirmation page upon submit I get this error:
Warning: mail() [function.mail]: SMTP server response: 501 <localhost>: sender address must contain a domain in C:\wamp\www\Access Multi Bids\WA_Universal_Email\mail_PHP.php on line 260

When I checkout without paypal after the confirmation I get the "transaction failure page" without a redirect button.

What did I do wrong?
Is the paypal money transfer complete when we get to the confirmation page or after the submit button is hit?

Thanks

The error you are getting is coming from your server telling you that the from address you used is not valid, it says that it needs a domain. What is the from address that you are using?

The order is not transacted until after the button is pressed on the confirm page, you can login to your PayPal account to see any of the transactions that have occurred.

I got the email to go through on paypal but with the local checkout I get get the transaction failed page. When I run your error codes from the bindings panel it says "status" success, short error messages are blank. It is as if maybe the success & failure pages are switched but I didn't change anything from the wizard. I did force an error and the error info showed up correctly but I don't see any reason why local checkout is not working.
Thanks

When you forced the errors to occur did you go to the checkout failure page as well? If so then the success and failure pages are not mixed up. To determine why you are getting to the failure page with the success message you should add in the full request as well as the full response. This will list all of the information that you are posting to PayPal as well as the information that they are sending back to you.

If you have a hard time determining what the issue is after looking at these details please post back with the full request and response minus any sensitive details so we can take a look at it.

This looks like the output from a good transaction. Can you see this transactions details when you login to your PayPal account? On your confirm and pp_confirm pages you should check the local checkout server behaviors to ensure that you have the success page set correctly.

If you are not seeing these transactions recorded in your db then they are probably not occurring successfully.

This happens with the "confirm" page, not the "pp_confirm" which goes into the paypal sandbox and out again perfectly. It's the local checkout where you fill out the customer info on the "checkout" page, not paypal.
Thanks

You are using Payments Pro rite? Both the Direct Pay (cc form) and Express Checkout (pp button) are PayPal checkouts. In either case you should be able to login to your PayPal account that you are running the transactions with and see them listed. If you are testing with a sandbox account you should be able to login to the sandbox and see any Express Checkout or Direct Pay transactions listed.

If you are seeing the transactions on PayPal then you are getting to the failure page by mistake. If this is the case please post back with a current copy of the confirm page minus any sensitive details so we can take a look.

yes I am using website payments pro US. I ran the wizard and the screens are exactly like your getting started guide. On page 65 of the checkout wizard it shows "checkout" going to "checkout_success.php" and below that checkout express going to "pp_checkout.php". Was I supposed to change "checkout" to the "pp_checkout.php" even though it doesn't show that or tell us to do that?

By default the checkout wizard will create a set of pages that run like this:

Cart > checkout.php

checkout.php
Direct Pay (cc form) > confirm.php > checkout_success.php or checkout_failure.php

checkout.php
Express Checkout (PayPal button) > PayPal site > pp_confirm.php > pp_checkout_success.php or pp_checkout_failure.php

Is this how you are checkout is setup? If you have any more trouble with this I would like to see the pages in question to get a better idea of how things are setup. Please post back with the checkout pages in a zip archive minus any of the sensitive details.
