Install Issues

Okay, I successfully installed yesterday and everything went smoothly. I mistakenly had my FTP client synchronization wrong and it did something to my file structure rending the page inoperable.

I deleted old site and database and uploaded a fresh unzipped copy of the site and I get some error codes on the page.

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/home/users/web/b2155/ipg.morrobonsaicom/cgi-bin/tmp/sess_222f974c7c484a02058a145a1d6a15dd, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in /hermes/bosweb/web215/b2155/ipg.morrobonsaicom/install/global.php on line 2

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cookie - headers already sent by (output started at /hermes/bosweb/web215/b2155/ipg.morrobonsaicom/install/global.php:2) in /hermes/bosweb/web215/b2155/ipg.morrobonsaicom/install/global.php on line 2

Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: Cannot send session cache limiter - headers already sent (output started at /hermes/bosweb/web215/b2155/ipg.morrobonsaicom/install/global.php:2) in /hermes/bosweb/web215/b2155/ipg.morrobonsaicom/install/global.php on line 2

Any ideas on what I did to it and suggestions to fix?

Thanks in advance.

update

Hi

Ok some really silly questions

when you re uploaded the files and database and then logged onto index.php did the automated install sequence start?

If not then something was still left.

Ok what I'd do is firstly delete everything in the uploaded root make sure that the connections folder is not there.

Then I log on to my database via phpmyadmin (or the tool of your choice) and then (assuming you can't delete the database) delete all tables and views.

The upload a fresh virgin copy of your donwloaded PS3 files to the web server.

Run index.php and it should go into the install sequence.

This long term will probably be the quickest route to go,

The lesson is ( one which we've all learnt) is 500 backups is one to few!!

Backup the database and your site before any change;-:

A five minute backup is much better than a days work re writing.

yes the install sequence begins but on every page on the install I get those errors. My host says its a scripting error but they can't help me with it.

I will try to delete and upload again...

Thanks

the first error message is causing the other two.

The error message is:
Warning: session_start() [function.session-start]: open(/home/users/web/b2155/ipg.morrobonsaicom/cgi-bin/tmp/sess_222f974c7c484a02058a145a1d6a15dd, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory (2) in /hermes/bosweb/web215/b2155/ipg.morrobonsaicom/install/global.php on line 2

It is not a scripting error. It is a server error. It basically means that the location specified in the php.ini file for the session.save_path setting does not exist. I'm surprised that your host would read that error as a scripting error. this portion of the error:

open(/home/users/web/b2155/ipg.morrobonsaicom/cgi-bin/tmp/sess_222f974c7c484a02058a145a1d6a15dd, O_RDWR) failed: No such file or directory

is saying the session temp file cannot be created because the location /home/users/web/b2155/ipg.morrobonsaicom/cgi-bin/tmp/ cannot be found.

the host will need to fix the session.save_path setting in the php.ini file.

Thanks again J, you got them to fix it!

Another question, what would be better to customize the look and feel of my page? Site Sculptor, Theme It, or both?

Thanks!

For PowerStore Theme it would be best to modify the look and feel.
