outlook rendering html emails incorrectly

I recently started to update the some of my sites to include email made with v3 to v4 and so far the update has been a lot easier to do but I have hit one minor snag. Some of the emails contain a html based button example...

<input type="button" name="linktoaccount" id="linktoaccount" value="Button" onclick="#code to link here#"/>

but in the final email the button is not being rendered instead I just get

[Button]

This worked fine in v3, is this a bug or limitation of v4 and if so are there any other items that will not render correctly?

UPDATE

I tried adding a a new email body with just a button in and nothing else to see how it would render but I also got the same result. It appears fine in the Preview window and when lauched from there it is still looking fine but when I view the source code I noticed that the closing HTML tag is duplicated?

<html><!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Untitled Document</title>
</head>

<body>
<label>
<input type="button" name="button" id="button" value="Button" />
</label>
</body>
</html></html>

Any Ideas?

After a lot of digging I found the issue and to me this is so many people dislike using Microsoft products.

aa338201.aspx#Word2007MailHTMLandCSS_Introduction

There is long list of HTML tags that are no longer supported in Outlook 2007 in fact 2003 is lot more compatable!

Might have know the extension was ok, sorry........ carry on....

I have dealt with other rendering issues in Outlook with things like the background color and other various properties. While digging into some of these issues I noticed that there are many work arounds for a lot of these issues, getting them incorporated can be tricky though.

Thanks for posting back with the link and the update, hopefully someone else will find this and save themselves some trouble with Outlook.
