Php Frameworks: Spoil the beans pleaseee..

hello, i'm updating my cms right now, currently the backbone still use MX Include from ADDT, could you describe what WA PHP Frameworks could do ? does it resolving "the path" if file include from nested folder? any screenshot ? or demo.. youtube maybe ??

Yes, it will resolve path issues so that you can set up files using dreamweaver and include what we will call plugin files onto the page.

This is nearly identical to the MX Includes functionality and will have a similar interface for single or multiple from a list.

We will of course have some of our own twists and improvements as well, but unfortunately there are no youtube demos or screenshots available.

that's ok neilo, you don't have to read this thread.. so you're away from sneak preview..

i think webassist already have niche market in this business, and i'm sure there will be more people dependent with wa tools... the only competitor i know is dmxzone..nothing else.. so there's no negative impact for WA to "spoil the beans"

i would like to know what this frameworks could do in developer perspective.. i'm counting on ADDT right now... interest to move with PHP Framework such as YII Framework.. but i'm waiting for WA's Framework concept first

The framework extension should allow you to work within dreamweaver and use all of the existing webassist extensions or native dreamweaver functionality to create pages.

Then it will allow you to include that pages functionality onto another page. Since it will automatically update image paths and links, it would allow you to continue to use dreamweaver and relative paths and still be able to include that content onto any number of pages in your site, or show different content based on a url, session, or other variable. This piece of the framework will be called plugins.

Another piece will be Themes. It will basically allow you to create a template page in Dreamweaver to define your design. Then allow you to create content pages that contain only the content for the editable regions. Then you will be able to "apply" the template to the content page through the code without actually associating it to the template in dreamweaver. This way you can make changes to a single template file without needing to propogate and update the derived pages, also this means your template is just a php setting that can be dynamic.

This will allow a great deal of flexability when the two are used in conjunction. Your designs can be broken into themes and your functionality into plugins and you can quickly swap out either on the page.

This first version probably won't include any actual Themes or Plugins we have created. You would use your existing Dreamweaver templates to create the themes and create plugins with securityassist, dataassist, or google toolkit, or dreamweaver recordsets.

If it is popular we will then start developing a library of themes and plugins based on our tools or possibly open an exchange where they can be shared and rated by the community.

yes.. i agree.. if plugins can be developed by 3rd party and you open something like e-Marketplace.. i think this will empower a lot of dreamweaver's user since more developer will build great plugins that can be use within dreamweaver.

i hope if this work and you could massively improve a lot of DW extension.. don't sell your company to adobe (just like interakt did)... its frustrating... you have your niche here..:D

Waiting for more 'kick-ass' extension...
