Registration Using Contact Form Solution

Hi. I have Super Suite & Solution Suite. I want to create an online registration form for a school. Each person that registers should have the opportunity of uploading a passport photograph. Using what WA ext.(s) will the form results be sent to an email and a database? Is the contact form solution pack able to do this alone?

The User Registration Solution Pack will allow users to register and store their details in your database while sending a verification email out to the user.

If you would like to add a file field to the form and have the details sent in an email you will need to make use of the latest version of Universal Email. This tool will handle the file uploading and sending of the email message. From what you have described I think adding Universal Email to your registration page should accomplish the objective.

If you would also like to store the image name in the user's record in the db you will need to use DataAssist to edit the insert server behavior on the registration page.

Hi Eric, thanks for the reply. Sorry but can i have a little more information on how to combine all the three to get what i want? I have the latest versions of the extensions and solution packs. Let me clarify the scenario some more.

(Users End) User goes to site and inputs all registration information. User uploads passport photograph (Preview of image that has been uploaded should be shown). Upon click of submit button, registration information should be sent to admin and an auto-reply confirmation should be sent to the user's mail.

(Admin End) Administrator should receive alert mail of new registration. Admin goes to online db managemnt site (using dataassist) searches and sees registration information with IMAGE SHOWN (How do i show uploaded image?). Admin can optionally print information for paper filing.

This is basically the idea. I will be extremely thankful (and loyal) if i can get an answer to this. Thanks in advance.

I think it will be best for you to work on these parts one piece at a time. The first thing you should do is update the register users page to add in the file upload functionality. To do this you need to open the registration page in DW and add in a file field to the form. Once you have added the file field to the form you will need to select the form tag and add the enctype attribute to it, it will need to be set to multipart/form-data like this:

enctype="multipart/form-data"

I think it would be best to start on this part and make use of the How To that is on the Universal Email support page, here is a link:

It describes how to add a file upload to a DataAssist page, this is the one that you should take a look at.

Once you have completed this part you can move onto the next part. As for having the image show up on this page after it is uploaded that might not be so simple. The image will only upload when the form is submitted, this same action will insert info into your db and send the user to the next page, the profile usually. You can display the image on the profile page if you would like.

Once you are past this let me know and we can move onto the next part.
