eCart 4 vs eCart 5 - What's the difference ?

Hello,
we have eCart 4 license... i would like to know what's the benefit to upgrade to eCart 5? what's new feature in eCart 5 ?

The new features can be viewed at: ecart/, just click on the features tab.

does eCart5 backward compatible ? i still run project that use eCart4

or can eCart 4 and eCart 5 installed together in the same dreamweaver ?

I just realized I sent you to the powerstore features and not the ecart features. Please view the updated link from my previous post.

eCart 5 replaces eCart 4, so they cannot both be installed at the same time.

It is backward compatible because it won't change any code by default until you enter an interface, it will recognize all of the functionality applied from eCart 4, and when you apply from an interface it will automatically update the code to eCart 5 code.

i little bit technical here... i would like to make sure is the core code for ecart 5 is the same as ecart 4 , especially for discount tab.

why i ask this question ? because right now i made an admin page that handle that code within php. so instead i update all the discount rule via dreamweaver interface, i could update now from my admin page...

i know eCart 5 has more new feature, but i think most of it is only about interface and checkout process... how about the code for calculation, setting, discount, etc
does it still the same ?

PS: any Estimate date for ADDT's MX Include replacement ?

I don't think the discounts or code have changed significantly. The only minor update to the code is that we now pass a currency code with the cart definition to handle canadian and European currencies through the eCart.

Release date for that extension has not yet been determined.
