Changing PS3 layout and design

I'm trying to customize the layout and design of PS3, I have CSS Design Suite but that doesnt let me alter anything that's not already a preset page design within the suite. I have very little CSS knowledge, how can I best alter the layout and design without screwing eveything up?

In the frequently asked questions section of the PowerStore support page is an entry for changing the menu with Menu Writer, here is a link to the page:

powerstore/

Making edits to the look and feel of PowerStore will require you to manually manipulate and add your own css to the existing PowerStore css. You will need to be able to edit and create css in order to apply your own design.
