Can I have too many options?

Can I have too many options?

In the instructions about options, it warns that too many Advanced options can slow things down. How many is "too many"

I LOVE the way the options work, but I see how they can add up VERY fast. So before I go too crazy, do you have any experience at what point things might get sluggish - like at 1000, 10,000, 100,000 or more?.

I am setting up Power Store for a print shop, and just for "postcards", I am estimating that 12960 entries will be generated based on the option I want to do. If I also have that many for "business cards" and "brochures", etc, I will have well over 100,000 in no time. Will things get a little sluggish or a lot sluggish?

Your advice will help determine how I proceed.

Thanks!

If you have that many options your site will likely be sluggish. If there are options that don't change the price of the product, you should rely on using the simple options to have those set. The simple options don't need a different entry for each combination of options, so they use much less database entries.
