Changing payment gateway

Hello,

I'd like to know how I go about changing my payment gateway in Powerstore 3.

From what I've read on the forum I know I can do it if I buy eCart, but I'm not looking to spend another $199.

In the listed features for PS3 it has four bullets listed under Payment Gateway Support, I was interested in the first • Accepts standard credit and debit cards. As this was listed separately I took this to mean that I wouldn't need Paypal or Authorize.net and could use my existing gateway.

Any help would be great.

Cheers

The supported payment gateways in PowerStore are PayPal and Authorize.net. We have a guide on updating the payment gateway but it requires using eCart and making use of one of eCart's supported gateways. Here is a link to the PowerStore support page with more info:

Here is also a link to the eCart support page:

Thanks Eric.

I have eCart now and am following the PDF guide to changing the gateway in Powerstore, but when I get to the step for adding the new gateway I get a message saying there are No cart objects for this site.

How do I fix this?

Also, the PDF guide is out of date and refers to old versions of PowerStore and eCart. Might be worth getting it updated.

Thanks.

Do you have the PowerStore files in the root of your DW site? If not you can get this error. This is because eCart looks for the cart object by checking the WA_eCart folder in the root of the site. If the cart file cannot be found you will get this error.

If your files are not in the root of your DW site you should define a new site and specify the folder that your PowerStore is in as the root of the site.

Thanks Eric.

That solved. I just redefined the root folder.

So now I'm over that hurdle I carried on with the instructions for changing my PS3 gateway. They tell me to choose local gateway as this is what PowerStore needs, but when I choose that option it doesn't allow me to use SagePay as my gateway.

Any ideas how I fix this? Will PowerStore break if I don't use a local gateway?

Thanks

Sage Pay is only available as a remote checkout option, so you will not be able to follow along with the guide if you need to use Sage Pay.

The PowerStore checkout is designed to work with a local checkout or Express Checkout from PayPal. When you apply Sage Pay there are three parts to the checkout.

Notification Authentication
Get Notification Payer Profile
Process Notification Transaction

You could replace the Express Checkout server behaviors with these for Sage Pay. Here is the order you would do this in:

Replace the Authentication for PayPal Express Checkout on the checkout page with the Notification Authentication server behavior.

On the pp_confirm page you will want to replace the 'Get Payer Profile from PayPal Express Checkout' with the 'Get Notification Payer Profile'.

The last one you would want to replace is the 'Process Transaction with PayPal Express Checkout' with the 'Process Notification Transaction' server behavior.

After you have made these updates you would then need to update the set session value server behaviors that are on the pp_confirm page. They are setup to work with the PayPal values, you will need to update these to work with the details that are returned from Sage Pay with the 'Get Notification Payer Profile'. These values should be available to you from the bindings tab once the server behavior has been applied.
