Shipping Charges / Advance Product Options not deleting

Shipping Charges / Advance Product Options not deleting

First of all, I set my quanity to two items, and when I go to check out, it only shows shipping for one item instead of both. How would I fix this?

Second problem: I accidentally set advance options on one of my items. I wrote the wrong thing at first for the "Add this option". I set a value, but I wanted to edit the "Add this option" name. Instead of going to the page to edit, it shows (options_Add.php?ProductID=2#) in the address bar. It does the same thing for the delete link.

I think for now, I'm going to have to edit it in the database myself, but these links should work.

The shipping quote value that you see is not based on the number of items in the cart but rather the total weight of the cart. This is done on the confirm pages, in the server behaviors it is passing the total weight for the cart.

As for editing the advanced options the links you see are correct, but clicking on them should bring up the interfaces for editing or deleting the option. I'm including some screen shots of this for reference.

Are you able to get to the edit or delete interface with any items options? What are the name and values for the current options you are working with?

I can see the first screen shot. But when I click on either the edit or delete buttons on any part, it changes the address to this at the end: options_Add.php?ProductID=2#

I don't have any options on my first ID item. There are only two items in my store right now for testing.

As for the second (confirm) and third (edit), I cannot get to those screens. This is where it takes me to the above mention of (options_Add.php?ProductID=2#) I'm working live on my server.

As you can tell of the screenshot, (don't pay attention to colors, haven't changed those yet lol) The red circle around "Edit" is what I'm hovering over, and then the bottom circle is where the page will go once clicked.

This happens on the advance options and the simple options. I have two options now because I couldn't update the first one that is messed up (with 18" as the option title). I added the second one that is right, but I cannot edit that one either.

As for shipping, when I sell something online, paypal sends the customer and myself a tracking number, which goes through USPS. It always makes me pay an extra .19 cents for the "tracking" portion. Where does this come into play with the shipping quote?

Thanks for getting back with the names and screen shot that helps a bunch. I'm able to get the same result as you when I have an option group named the same or if the option has a single or double quote in it. To fix it I had to go into the db and get rid of the single and double quotes.

I have logged this as a bug so that it can be looked into further. In the mean time you should use the html entity version of these characters when adding products or options for the products:

use this for double quote:

php:
"

use this for single quote

php:
&#145

About the tracking charge is this an option that you have enabled in your USPS account? It is not something that I'm familiar with. If you know that there will be this charge regardless then it should be possible to just add $0.20 to each order to account for it.

Thanks! I'll change everything on my lunch break and hopefully it will fix everything.

As for the added $.19, I choose to add it to my account. Every time I make a label, the radio button for the tracking number to be sent to the customer is checked. Usually for a 1oz usps letter/package is $1.41 total.

Could I go into ecart, and in the charges section, add this so that when someone checks out, it will add this charge and then show the customer what it is for?

I guess if I had to, I could add to the product, where if it were $5.00, then it would be $5.19.

Thanks for your help, Eric!

For the extra $0.19 tracking charge you can do like you have said and go into eCart and create a new shipping charge rule. It will be a very basic rule, the trigger should be something like 'total number of unique items in the cart > 0', then for the calculation you would just add in a flat rate of 0.19.

It There A Fix For This?

Hi Eric,

Need to know if you have a fix for this yet. As I deploy my solution to multiple users I cant ask a layperson to be putting in different characters then they normally would.

Please email me directly as I am not getting sent an email when you post a reply to me.

Thanks,

Andy

Can't Find Update

Hi Eric,

I downloaded both updates/fixes for ps3 but was not able to fix this problem. Can you tell me which specific file handles this.

The fix that you downloaded does not look like it will account for the product names, sorry about that. I have opened a ticket for you on this so that it can be looked into further. To check the status of your ticket or update it login and visit your support history.
