Error: eCart is only available '.php' files in PHP websites.

I had eCart 4 installed. I removed the extension and installed eCart 5. When I try to use it, it gives me the error message: "eCart is only available '.php' files in PHP websites." I removed the .dat file, I deleted all the WA eCart files that I could find in the system. Restarted. Re-installed the eCart 5 extension. Same error message appears. I got a project that I need to work on ASAP. Please help!

What server language are you using in your site?

Need a call from tech support

The site that I am working on does not use any server languages yet. There might be some documents that contain ASP code, so what difference does it make? Does it mean I can not have any ASP code at all on my site? I have hosting that provides both ASP and PHP support. Why would not the cart initialize? I do not have time for this! Can somebody from the tech support just call me 510-501-5002 to walk me through!? I am a tech savvy person and I can not figure it out! I can not spend days reading forums! I already spent 6 hours today trying to make it work! And all you can reply with is "What server language do you use?". I have a decision to make about to use your eCart in my project or not. And it is urgent! You forum customer service style is not helping! I need a call from a person, a live person who can stay online with me for what ever it takes to install that software! I already spent $300 on eCart 4 and it was a nightmare to make it work, but I did. Now I hoped that additional $100 will get me a better product - supposedly you guys worked on ver 5 starting from 2002! I can not even get it installed and there is nobody I can talk to live! I am probably going to request my money back for the whole thing if no one is calling me tomorrow. I do not need any calls from sales persons to comfort me and to send me back to support forum. Looking forward to talking to you! Thank you!

Now after I reinstalled the DreamWeaver I get a message when trying to install eCart 4 or eCart 5 extension: "Internal error (please contact customer support). The extension will not be installed."

The reason I asked which server language you were using was because eCart 5 only supports PHP. You will have to open a PHP page for eCart 5 to run.

As for the error you are getting now. With Dreamweaver and extension manager closed, try renaming the configuration folder referred to in this document:
common_installation_issues.pdf

This will have the effect of disabling all your extensions. Once you have renamed the configuration folder, open the extension manager and remove eCart. Try installing it again and testing it. Make sure you open a PHP page first.

I will try that today and let you know. Thanks!

Ok, let me know if that works for you or not.
