browsing for product images

I reported this before. I can't browse for images in the Admin. The browse option doesn't work. I started all over again and made this time a local server, but the same happened.
"Catalog Image: Choose the Browse option to select an image you wish to use for this product." is what I have to do, but the browse button doesn't give any reaction at all and is placing the default-product_thumb.png instead.
Can you please help me with this?
