That does look interesting.
But ultimately, the thing that keeps me from investing too much money and time into AJAX and other JavaScript tools is the fact that HTML5 and CSS3 will be handle so many of the things that Java does but in a much more standards friendly package.
The real question is, how long will it take for Microsoft to catch up with true standards-based browsers? That really is the delay with all the new features that CSS and HTML have to offer. We know that Apple Safari, Firefox, and Chrome are all CSS3 friendly already. I wish Microsoft would join the party or get out of the browser business altogether and let Firefox make a skinned version for the OS.
