Issue with MySQLi Authentication Script
Hi,
I have recently moved my domain - chimpeon.com to a new cloud server (hybrid with Linus bias). Since then your MySQLi authentication script has been problematic. Most of the time it works (90% of the time) but on random occassions it doesn't. This is despite the same (and correct) user name and password being passed to the script. The script sometimes fails to authenticate despite the user record (that matches the user name and password) being there. It will work and then on the next try (with same user name and password) it may not authenticate (i.e. does not find the user record).
If I remove your authentication script and instead use a simple MySQLi query (using your query extension) it finds the record 100% of the time. Its only when I use the authentication script that it is temperamental.
No errors are presented. The authenticate fails gracefully like the record was not found. I have logged what is getting thrown at the script when it is successful and unsuccessful and on all occassions the user name and password are the same.
I wondered if you knew of any known issues on cloud hosting. Here is what my server is configured for...
Apache
Database client version: libmysql - 5.0.77
PHP extension: mysqli Documentation
PHP version: 5.3.3
Server: REMOVED FOR PRIVACY via TCP/IP
Server type: MySQL
Server version: 5.6.30 - MySQL Community Server (GPL)
Protocol version: 10
User: REMOVED FOR PRIVACY
Server charset: UTF-8 Unicode (utf8)
Hope you can help.
regards,
Mark
