Updating record using UK date format (dd-mm-yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy)
I have read many posts in the forums about this but none are giving me the info I need.
I have a number of input fields (type="text") which have a date in. I know they are stored in the database in the format yyyy-mm-dd and I am fine changing it to dd/mm/yyyy when reading it back and showing it in a field. But, where I'm stuck is how I convert them back to yyyy-mm-dd so the UPDATE behaviour works again.
I've seen that strtotime looks at the separator to establish whether it's US or EU but even if I go with dd-mm-yyyy it's not storing it.
I'm not using SPRY or any WA validation features, I just want to convert the value from dd/mm/yyyy to yyyy-mm-dd so it updates correctly.
Many thanks
Jon
