Defining delivery costs using customer distance from store
Hello,
I'm building a website using Dreamweaver and eCart. (First time using eCart and haven't used databases before.)
We're only selling a very small number of items so I've been adding them as static items, rather than using a database.
We personally deliver our items (logs) free to customers within a 15 mile radius. Beyond that area and up to a 20 mile radius, we want to charge £10 for delivery. The 20 mile radius would be the maximum distance that we would sell to online.
What's the best way to set this up using eCart and does it mean that I have to use a database?
I'm thinking the only way to do it would be to ask the customer to put in their postcode on the shopping cart, after the summary, which would then confirm the total (including delivery) - either the same total for free delivery, an extra £10 for the outer radius, or not recognising postcode (outside both radii) and asking to call for further help...
Thank you
