Big Errors with Installing Free Tools

Same problems with free tools but it crashed Dreamweaver

This morning I got up and went to the WebAssist site looking to see what an upgrade to my software would cost when I came across the “Free Tools” download. So I downloaded the file and installed them as I have many other DW extensions.

To my horror (in the middle of trying to win a $10K contract) I found out that the “Free Tools” installation crashed my Dreamweaver.

I am running; (Windows XP pro and CS4 pro suite).

Here is the error message I get as soon as I try to open Dreamweaver:

At line 12 of the “C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe\AdobeDreamweaverCS4\Configuration\Shared\WebAssist\LayoutManager\Shared.JS”: WA is not defined.

When I press OK and go on, as soon as Dreamweaver tries to start I get another notice:
“C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe\AdobeDreamweaverCS4\Configuration\Shared\WebAssist\Preferences\RSSUpdate.JS”: WA_getExtensionDir is not Defined.

Dreamweaver is crashed and it did not do any good following your “Problems “ solution posted on your help board.

Please tell me there is a good short way to fix this problem without reinstalling Dreamweaver and all my extensions.

Dreamweaver does not open up now at all, just sets there spinning my hard drive and and I can't even abort without a restart.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ken Webster
