yes, you would need a second table to record the related products.

relationsID: primary Key
prodID: Main products ID
related prodID: ID of related products

so to relate product ID 3, 8 and 14 to product 1:
relationsID | prodID | related prodID
1 | 1 | 3
2 | 1 | 8
3 | 1 | 14

to display the product information, use a join query:
SELECT products.*
FROM products
INNER JOIN productrelations
ON products.ProductID = productrelations.prodID
WHERE productrelations.prodID = paramProdID

then create a new parameter:
name: paramProdID
Type: Number
default value: -1
RunTime Value: $_GET['<querystring name>']

change <querystring name> to the name of the querystring that is passed to the details page, for example, if the details page is called as :
