Repeat selection works on one page, not on another

Repeat selection works on one page, not on another

I have two pages which are broadly similar - each pulls listings from its own database table and displays them as 152px square images. On each I've set up a repeat region pulling all records, and then applied the DA repeat selection server behavior, using 5 as the number of repeats. So, in theory I should have 5 images in the first row, repeated however many times as necessary till all records are pulled.
In the artists.php page this works fine, but in sportsman.php I get a long line of images. I've tried deleting both the repeat region and repeat selection behaviors in case I'd gone wrong somewhere, but it doesn't make any difference. I've even printed out the code for the two tables and compared them line by line and apart from one having a "show region if recordset not empty" behavior on it, they appear to be identical. So - why does one work and the other doesn't?
I've attached the two pages as a zip file - they can be seen online at:

artists.php &
sportsman.php
