adding a new field to Simple Reg Page

I do have DataAssist now,,, got it today in desperation... but i still don’t see how to get that field connected with my database....and i would really appreciate some help

Please just a simple instruction how to add a one extra field to an existing user registration simple form …. From user reg pack and get it to update in database

tutorial only explain how to create a whole page its not what i want to do at all ,,, even though i had no success with that either :(…..
