"There is an error in your SQL syntax" error. PHP errors on, but no errors showing?

I'm having trouble with a MySQLi INSERT behaviour. This was working fine on a website, and we've haven't changed anything, so I can only assume that some scripting is out of date but I'm getting "There is an error in your SQL syntax." when submitting the form.

I'd included the following code, in an attempt to view the PHP error that was being generated:

ini_set('display_errors', 1);
ini_set('display_startup_errors', 1);

...and this mentioned something about curly brackets and an issue with the queryobj.php file, which I replaced with another more up to date version (31/03/2021) of that file.

Since then, I'm still getting the syntax error message, but no details of the php error?

I'm, therefore, completely unable to diagnose what the issue is. Is there anything else I can do?

Thank you.
