Sorry, that wasn't clear form the description.

it must be something in the pages CSS, if you preview that gallery type:
http://www.banburybedrock.com/galleryInstall/galleries/slideshow_blinds/index.php?gallery=1&theme=light

you don't see that behavior. Something on the page you are adding the gallery to is causing this.
