Ok thanks. I've sorted the problem with the menu and other links.
However the images stored in the database are still not displayed on the site on the testing server.
On the live site the images are stored in a folder called files but when I look in the files folder on the testing server it is empty.
It seems that the export from the live site and the import to the localhost did not include the database images. The text from the database is displayed but no images.
During the export and import using phpmyadmin in xampp I used the default settings.
