There are a few options....

You can always rename your configuration folder. This will effectively uninstall all of your extensions.

Most likely that would give you a clean slate and things would work properly.

Another option is to restart the computer and try to install the latest version again. If it doesn't work, record the exact error message and version of the extension manager you are using and post back here with that information. It should allow us to determine the root cause.
