when you store the event in the database, you should have a column in the events table for the event owner.

in security assist, when a person logged in, their id is stored in a session, in the event owner column, store the ID of the logged in user.

On the update page, there will be a recordset used to display the current event, in this case, it is being filtered by the eventid querystring variable:
?eventid=96609

so the recordset SQL will look something like this:

SELECT * FROM events WHERE eventid = paramEventID

in the variables section:
Name: paramEventID
type: integer
default value: -1
run time value: $_GET['eventid']

you will need to edit the recordset to include the the event owner column and compare it against the user ID session variable.

WHERE eventid = paramEventID AND eventOwner = paramUserID

new variable:
name: paramUserID
type: integer
default value: -1
run time value: $_SESSION['userID']

bear in mind that i don't know your database structure, or session variable names, so any code above is purely for example
