WebAssist Triggers - Unleash the Power
One feature unique to WebAssist extensions is the concept of triggers. A trigger detects a specific event and runs a server behavior or other function. The power of triggers in WebAssist extensions lies in the flexibility they give you as a developer. Unlike the triggers in native Dreamweaver server behaviors, WebAssist triggers can fire in reaction to many different kinds of events, even those contained in other pages. This document provides background information and discusses the appropriate use of the various triggers available.more
How to Pass eCart Data to my Secure Server
WA eCart users are able to keep shoppers on their eCommerce sites without passing them to a payment gateway site: we call this process local checkout. This requires using an Secure Socket Layer (SSL) server to allow customers to enter their credit card information securely. In some cases, shopping cart data is cleared when the SSL server is contacted. This TechNote discusses why that happens and describes how to get your data to the secure area of your site so that your transactions can be processed properly.more
eCart Calcuation, Discount, and Charge Rules
This TechNote discusses calculations in WA eCart. It provides both general guidelines for use and specific examples of custom calculations. There are two main ways in which your eCart object can be customized. The first and most basic update is to add custom columns to store data specific to what you are selling. Changing Form Elements in Database Search
The WA Database Search wizard inserts a form element for each search type requested. For example, if you specify an Advanced Text Search you might initially select the default option, a text field. After the search form is generated by WA Database Search, you can easily change the text field to another form element such as a series of checkboxes, a radio button group or a select list.more
Memo Fields and Dreamweaver 8.0.2
In Dreamweaver 8.0.2, when a dynamic page generated with the ASP JavaScript server model attempts to update an Access memo field or Microsoft SQL server nText field, "null" is displayed instead of the memo field value. While the issue applies to DataAssist, the described fix could be applied to any affected dynamic page. The issues stems from the changed Recordset server behavior in Dreamweaver 8.0.2 which does not properly alter the cursor location property. This TechNote shows you how to fix this problem by adding a single line of code.more
