Email and GoDaddy

Email and GoDaddy

Has this issue with email and GoDaddy been resolved? I've checked a lot of the postings related to this issue and haven't found a solution for me yet. I don't receive anything that I send from my contact page and I'm assuming all the other email function on the site doesn't work either. I've left the email server part blank.

Please help. Thank you.

My solution was to move my client off of GoDaddy. I spent a week trying to resolve email issues with GoDaddy and came to the conclusion that their support has a minimal understanding of how email servers work.

Search any support forum and you'll find Godaddy mentioned often, whereas in most other issues the hosting company's name is rarely mentioned because they have standard setups.

GoDaddy registration - good, Goddady other services - not so much. Just my opinion. :)

Which provider will work with PowerStore? Please let me know. Thanks.

I don't think it matters much as long as they have a fairly standard setup. I think WebAssist has a host recommendation listed under the system requirements.

Damm - this is going to affect me too. So, GoDaddy's email servers can't be used in conjunction with PowerStore?

I guess you could setup an email address with another host and then have that forwarding onto a GoDaddy hosted email address?

No that's not what I'm saying at all. The issue I had with GoDaddy's email was not related to PowerStore. I just came to the conclusion that it was not worth the grief trying to get things to work with GoDaddy servers when it was easy to just move the site.

I setup PowerStore on my server in a mater of minutes and everything worked perfectly the first time. Why spend time trying to get it to work with a server that so many people have problems with?

For the most part the problem mail server with goDaddy are under windows hosting plans. The windows hosting plans dont allow for the use of the php mail() function to send emails which is how power store is set up.

in many cases, switching to a Linux hosting plan with GoDaddy will do the trick. But even in a Linux hosting plan, their smtp server are difficult to deal with and unreliable.

I'm already on their Linux hosting plan so fingers crossed that this will work.

Cheers.

I just switched my hosting account from windows to linux in godaddy. I'll see if this works out and let everyone know. They said it will take 24 hours to take effect. If this doesn't work then I'll have to go to with a different hosting company.
