Trouble with DetailOrderID recording

Trouble with DetailOrderID recording

I'm trying to link my customer_order_history page to the customer_order_details pages. The link works, but no info show up in the details page.

In my sql database, I notice that no DetailOrderID info is being submitted/entered.

What page or where and how do I make sure this info is inserted. Thanks.

The order summary and order details are stored to the database on the Confirm page.

On the confirm page, open the server behaviors list.

Double click on the eCart Store order Summary server behavior.

make sure that the Primary key column is selected for Order ID and make note of the name that is set in the Store As section, then click cancel.

Click on the Bindings tab and expand the session collection. Make sure there is a session variable listed here with the name you noted from the Store as section of the Store Order Summary behavior.

Back on the Server Behaviors tab, double click the eCart store order Details server behavior.

For Order ID select the detailOrderID column, then in the columns list, maker sure the detailOrderID column is bound to the session variable that is set by the Store Cart summary behavior.

Getting close, need to clarify a few more things

Hi Jason,

Tried your steps above -- still not working, but I think we're close.

To clarify:

There is nothing referencing "Primary Key" in the ecart store summary behavior. I have selected the ORDERS table, and underneath that there's a spot that says Order ID: and I selected OrderID. Is this the same as primary key?

The store as was: ArticleCart_OrderID

This was NOT listed as a session variable -- so I added a session variable named ArticleCart_OrderID. Was this correct?

And as for this part: "For Order ID select the detailOrderID column, then in the columns list, maker sure the detailOrderID column is bound to the session variable that is set by the Store Cart summary behavior."

Do you mean to bind the detailOrderID column to the ArticleCar_OrderID session variable I just created?

I just ran a "test" purchase through PayPal and everything works up until the customer_order_details page -- and still no DetailsOrderID being recorded. Please advise. Thanks.

Please send a copy of your confirm page so I can examine the code.

You will want to mask the paypal account details in the code when you attach it here.

orderdetails_DetailsID or ArticleCartOrderID

Looking at my session variable on the confirm.php page, I noticed these two session variable:

orderdetails_DetailsID (this one was already there)

ArticleCartOrderID (I added this one after reviewing your steps above)

I'm wondering if I should have just changed my server behavior "save as" to orderdetails_DetailsID instead of adding the new one?

Help.

My confirm page code is attached

My confirm page code is attached.

I'm hoping to get though this problem and the download_center page today so any advice is appreciated. And yes, I've been through the guides several times but I always seem to have a little problem or two.

My fault I'm sure -- so I appreciate your help.

Paul

The session variable to use in the Order details is:
ArticleCart_OrderID

you have bound both the detailsID and DetailOrderID columns. The detailID column should not be bound to anything, this column will automatically be assigned a value by the database.

That was it, thanks Jason

And for anybody reading this, remember you may have confirm.php page AND a pp_confirm.php (PayPal).

:)
