coupons and discounts

I have no experience with ecart and can't find my answer in the sales area.

I want to offer the same item at various prices. I'm assuming I could make several coupons and email the appropriate coupon to a group of potential customers. Can coupons be limited by expiration or a single use by a new customer?

So I'd use a coupon to matchup a new customer with a price, then I should be able to apply an appropriate group discount after the customer's first order, by organizing the customers into groups- right?

Thanks,
Steve

Yes, there are a variety of possible ways to do this. Single use, expiration, new customer only coupons are all potential options. You just need to store and match up the appropriate information in the database you want to use to determine the coupon eligibility, then create a recordset to tell you if it is valid or not and use that to set a session variable. Then that session variable can control the appropriate amount to charge.

Could you elaborate more on the Single Use Coupon? Does this required hand coding?

Those pages seem to be broken, I'm on a mac and tried them in firefox, chrome, safari and opera. The Adobe Captivate icon just kept flashing, does anybody know what the issue is?

A recent Flash update has caused the wrapper that loads the videos and table of contents to stop working for some people.

For some users who experience this issue, we've found that switching browsers sometimes allows them to watch the videos.

However, while we try to figure out a solution, here are the direct links to these videos:
