DataBridge Issues

Hey WebAssist,

I've now completed my second site with DataBridge. Fabulous product! I love you guys. Just thought I would point out a couple if issues that I did not see anyone else post about yet. None of them are big deals, but I would think should be fixed in future versions.

1) "Make this link to your detail page" does not work. I have to manually edit the tag.

2) "Validate unique column value" does not validate a unique value. Doesn't do anything.

3) Ever since DataBridge was installed, SecurityAssist generates incompatible code. On the login page, there are two server behaviors “Validation Show If (login.php) (prior version)” that causes the login page to error. Once deleted, it works fine.

1. I cannot recall i had that problem, i guess on my page the link to detail page worked however i wonder why i should do that because a magnify glass icon is added on the results page and will exactly do the same thing.

2. This issue is already reported and should be known as a bug already.

Again i hope a bug list will be posted soon for us to reference before posting duplicate bugs and creating a lot of unnecesary posts.

WA support team, i'm sure you'll do a great job for fixing all reported issues however i hope that before you release an upgrade to fix all this, an extended internal debug/testing will take place? I think this will save a lot of time and posts for this new release.
I mention this because after reading and posting already so many bugs in this first release i start to wonder if internal debugging has taken place. Maybe i'm wrong and again you'll do a great job fixing all this, but a lot of bugs reported should already have been addressed internally, i think. I don't want to sound negative because i really like this new extension, just hope with the next release these things will be avoided.

Keep up the good work, can't wait for a stable fixed release.

@dvan, a list has been posted to the appropriate forums and, yes, we will be testing each bug before releasing an update.

how was the Validate unique column value defined.

can you post a screen shot showing the settings you used. also, is this on an insert or update page.

First, I found the problem with the link to detail page. You actually have to create a detail page. Duh! My fault. I created a result, insert, and upate page, but no detail page.

Second, the validation. I still can't get it to work. I included a screenshot of the Form Validation and Field Settings where you select the Validate unique column option. Even with this selected, I can enter for example "Home" in multiple records and it does not throw up an error as I expected it to. The second attachment shows the results.

Send a copy of the pages please so i can take a look at the code.

Maybe a strange question but, what is the main reason of the option to make a link to detail page? I do not understand because the magnify icon is always shown in the result page and does exactly the same, so why would you choose to make this link to detail pages again? If somehow you could toggle on/off this magnify icon and then choose a link instead then i would understand or if you could specify where you want this make link option to go to instead of going to the detail page by default.

it is there to offer more than one way to get to the detail page.

if you don't want to use it you don't need to check the box.
