Power Gallery Just Loading

Hi I have just set up my first Power Gallery on a testing server (local) and all i get is the loading symbol and no images, if i go into admin they are all there and visable.
I am including the images in an existing php page inside a div.

<?php
$pg_id = '2';
$pg_theme = 'light';
include('/Users/ME/Sites/mysite.co.uk/gallery/galleries/ribbon_fullsize/index.php');
?>

The path to the testing server in browser is:
gallery.php when i view it in safari the error in the activity window says it cannot connect to the server and shows the url as:
gallery.php

I presume that i just need to change the path somewhere? If some one can tell me where that would be great many thanks Alistair

In the first URL you are using port 8888. The default port for web servers is 80 so it has no way of knowing about the non-standard port number.
