contact form, syntax error

I have just purchased and tried to utilize the contact form on a remote testing server. I get the following error: Parse error: syntax error, unexpected $end in /home/saffr1/public_html/BMAA/contact.php on line 198. Line 198 is the end of the page. I had removed the security question and the capcha capability.

Please remove the ?> tag from line 32 on your page. Then add ?> at line 38.

thanks, but more problems...

Thanks for your prompt response. I figured it was something like that, but I don't know php code well enough to track that type of problem down.

I made the recommended changes to the code. However, a new problem has revealed itself. When I try to send the form from my remote testing server, the page just seems to flicker for a second. The information remains in the form fields and nothing seems to happen.

You need to remove the server side validation for the security question and captcha, please comment out or remove lines 17 and 18.

validation error messages when form page loads

Thanks for all your help. With your recommended changes, I was able to get the form working on my remote testing server. However, when I uploaded the files to the web site server, some of the text field required messages are displaying when the contact page loads. The form does work.

I'm assuming that somehow I didn't transfer the files properly. I have attached the documents. Also, you can visit the form page at:

It looks like you have not uploaded these two files to your server:

<link href="SpryAssets/SpryValidationTextField.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

<link href="SpryAssets/SpryValidationTextarea.css" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

Make sure to upload your SpryAssets folder to your server. That should solve this issue.

Note:

Please don't attach the contact form pages in a forum thread.

Thanks. The files apparently didn't upload properly.

For future reference, exactly what files do you need to determine the nature of a problem in an attachment? I'm interested in general guidelines.

As long as you upload all the folders that came with the Solution Pack zip, you should be good to go.

I'm a little confused. You said not to attach contact form pages in a forum thread.

I'm sorry, i thought you were saying what files and folders you needed to you upload to your server for the solution pack.

As a start you could just post a link, which is a good start, and if we can't determine the issue from the link, then we usually ask for the files in a support ticket (private).
