One question before I've even looked at it

Will this be a completely new product? Will we be able to have both extensions installed at the same time. I'm just worried that it's so different (by the sound of it) from the existing UE that we won't be able to maintain existing UE implementations on sites if we are forced to delete the existing UE.

It will technically be a completely new product. Since we will stop selling Digital File Pro and combine it into a single installer and serial number. You will not be able to have this extension installed with the old version of WAUE or DFP.

However it should work with existing implementations in PHP and update on reapplication.

Ray,

The details look tremendous. Can't wait to give it a try. As you probably know, I have written sever mass-email applications in the past for several radio station websites... but this will take things to a whole new level making it very easy to create a true listener relationship management system.

Looking forward to the beta!

Best regards,

Brian

It isn't implemented with what I would call a listener.

It uses Session variables to keep track of progress and sleep() to pause between sending.

Then it creates a php page to delever xml based on the session which is called from AJAX to update the progress bar.

We should have a beta available any day now.

Ray,

By "listener", I was referring to the people that actually listen to the radio stations I was developing the platform for :).

I should have been more clear... but either way, the product looks like it will be wonderful.

Best regards,

Brian

I guess I just had a listener on my mind since one of the decisions in this update was whether to use timeouts or a listener/cron job in order to achieve the mass mailing result.

Our solution won't work in safe mode because we depend on extending the script timeout instead of using a cron job, but seems pretty stable in our tests.
