spell checker icon is grayed out

The spell checker in my HTML editor is grayed out. How do I enable this? This site is on my local computer only, so you can't browse it online.

by Default the spell checker is set to use ieSpell which is an extesnion of Internet Explorer and is only available to Internet Explorer browsers, the spell check feature will be disabled in other browsers. Please see the following for more information:

That's the problem - I'm using Firefox. Will this feature ever be available in other browsers?
