Gallery will not load on site

Hi.

I had PowerGallery working fine on a testing site. Please see:
residential.php

But when installed on client's site
residential.php

the images will not load. On Firefox it just says loading and on Safari and IE you see broken links to images. This was a fresh install of PowerGallery.

My global.php is as you say it should be in another thread. This is how the PHP link looks on my testing site:

<?php
$pg_id = '1';
$pg_theme = 'light';
include('/var/www/vhosts/123design.co.uk/subdomains/testing/httpdocs/images/gallery/PowerGallery100/galleries/ribbon_fullsize_brooks_2/index.php');
?>

Client site looks like:

<?php
$pg_id = '1';
$pg_theme = 'light';
include('/vhost/vhost8/b/r/o/brooksarchitects.com/www/PowerGallery100/galleries/ribbon_fullsize_brooks_2/index.php');
?>

I have just tried a complete reinstall of PowerGallery, resiting the folder to see if that made a difference. I have checked the database and thought of everything I can. Now very stuck and desperate with impatient client.

Please help urgently! Thanks.

Help appreciated asap.

I have just done a test of PowerGallery on the same host provider, www.easyspace.com/, with a plain page and there is the same loading problem. I think it is the host. So, is there any work round or do I have to change host for my client? This will be embarrassing! Help needed fast.

Thanks
Janice

Looks like this is because your server is setting the path as:
colonialpark01_782p.jpg

for an image.

This part is extraneous:
/vhost/vhost8/b/r/o/brooksarchitects.com/www

This is the correct path:
colonialpark01_782p.jpg

I am attaching an updated version of the global.php specific to your setup that will remove the extraneous part of the path for you. Let me know if this works for you.

global.php not doing the trick

Thanks for assistance. Unfortunately this has not solved the problem.

Hope you can find another answer.

Which global.php file did you replace? Was it the one in the galleries directory?

Oh joy!

No, it was the wrong global.php. Have now replaced the one in the galleries and it works!

I cannot say how grateful I am for your assistance. Thanks so much. Top marks, yet again, to WebAssist technicians.

Regards, Janice

Glad to hear it works for you. Make sure you revert the other global file back to the original form. If you run into any additional issues, feel free to open a new thread.

PG not working for me

I think I am having a similar issue as these few posts on the subject, but have not seen a solution in the open. I apologize if I missed it anywhere.

Anyway, everything was successful during the installation, but when I added the php code into the page below it does not view properly. No photos, etc. All photos processed successfully during the installation.

photos

This is the http: address the admin provides:
index.php?gallery=1&theme=dark

Obviously the link should be:
index.php?gallery=1&theme=dark

but this link above is the same issue as when adding the php into the first link. Photos load, but nothing is viewable.

I am using firefox browser version 3.5.7
I am hosted at Godaddy
I have windows vista

Also, I can log into the Admin part of the site and add or edit photos.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Ernie
