Too Many Columns

Too Many Columns

I am using the DataAssist Wizard with a table that has over 200 columns. The wizard requires that each column I don't want must be removed one at a time (a rather tedious task which must be repeated on each page of the wizard) rather than giving the option to select all or none or just adding the columns I want. I don't know if this is something that can be changed or a wish list item. Please let me know if there is any workaround.

Not a specific answer to your question, but you might want to look at the construction of your database to avoid so many columns.

See if this helps:

unfortunately, it's not my table. the data comes from a Multiple Listing Service and that's just the way they have it set up. columns for baths, beds, square footage, legal desc, etc... anything that has to do with a property.

Bummer. Nothing more complicated than real estate.

Sorry I couldn't help.

This would have to be a wishlist item, so if you would like to see it in a future release, please make a post in the wishlist forum to request this feature.

It turns out to be easier to just have the wizard select all of the columns and then remove them manually from the pages. This should definitely be on the next upgrade.

Thanks!

Glad it was easier than you had thought previously. A feature like this would have to wait for a new version release. If there are any features you'd like to request, please post them in the wishlist forum.
